THE BEAUTY SPOT : London Fashion Week Beauty Trends AW12

London was all about the graphic eyeliner. This is a trend which takes a serious amount of practice. Trust me on this one - I've been trying to perfect the mini flick from Erdem (see above) for about two weeks now! It's about perfection - there is no room for messy or uneven liner here.

ERDEM - I imagine that using a pen liner would be easier then gel here and a lot less mess. Try Rimmel's liquid liner as it has the easiest brush or if your feeling brave then try gel, Blacktrack from MAC with a 209 brush.
Mary Katrantzou got even more graphic then Erdem with her liner as it became all about exact lines. Again, practise makes perfect!!! This is not one for the shaky of hand!
The new smokey eye appeared at quite a few different shows. It was all about the dusty Tim Burton-esque haunting eye.  Burberry (above) teamed this with messy boy-ish brows, nude lips and a flawless finish to the skin while MCQ (below) took this to extremes with a buffed out liner on the inside of the eye.
You can achieve this by drawing a (messy) line with a creamy eyeliner in brown on the inside of the eye and then buffing it out using a round blending brush (No. 7 do great brushes for this and also the 217 brush from MAC goes without saying!) and push the color where you want it to go. Set it in place with a little bit of powder and your away! You can add the white liner if you want to instead of a dark black flick. Black liner might look a bit heavy with this but if you really can't go without then why not try adding a dark brown liner instead? Swap the black for MAC 'Dip Down' gel liner.

SMOKEY EYES - Burberry, Giles, MCQ,

GRAPHIC LINER - Mary Katrantzou, Erdem and Aquascutum
