It may seem like all I ever do in my spare time is eat- OK so yes that is my biggest hobby, as I genuinely love the food and restaurant industry. However I've had a few comments, along the lines of 'Laura you are killing my waistline' which made me think, yes, there is so much more to do in London than just eat.
So in a double wammy of a non food and mildly athletic Saturday night, me and a few girlfriends hit the dance floor- roller disco style.
Look at their smug faces, playing it cool from the other side of the rink. You just wait ladies...
Vauxhall roller disco is like no other club in London. Forget ity bity dresses, and pretentious harems around a table- tucked in a converted warehouse, retro diner style booths line the walls, and cheesy disco balls hang from the ceiling. Throw on your best 70's and 80's gear, and instead roll to classic disco tunes like the real Queen Bee of music, Whitney.
Yes, there is even a few bars, so really you could say its a club on wheels.
I wanna dance with somebody... I wanna roll with somebody...
The Disco is far from the shallow 'London Exclusive' in the centre, every age and size were there and most people dress up in some way or another.
There were the cool kids at the back, who could spin and trick there way round with ease.
There were the ones who really went to town!
It doesn't matter if you are a little wobbly on your feet...
...or even fall.
As we soon found out. Never having skate before, we were like bambi on ice.
Yet I promise you, after a good while of slowly skating round, getting braver at each turn, you do actually begin to pick up the pace.
Until you find yourself flying round!
Until I was so speedy all you could catch is the back of me...

Does Vauxhall Roller Disco get the sign of approval?
I think that's a yes.
It is honestly one of the most fun Saturday nights out I've had in ages. You'll come away grinning ear to ear.
The disco is open from 8pm till 3am, but after about 4 hours we were knackered, plus I don't think I could trade my heels in permanently for these beauties...
